Information about current construction projects at Piedmont Triad International Airport is available below:
The new runway 5L/23R and Taxiway "E" are now open. Work on these two projects began over ten years ago. No one ever imagined that it would take that long before they were open. We are proud that we now have parallel runway at GSO.
The Bryan Boulevard project is nearly complete as well. Some minor items need to be completed and we will close that project out.
The FedEx site project is complete and FedEx has completed the new Mid Atlantic hub. The have moved from cargo building 3 and operate from the new facility now.
Winter weather has slowed construction on Taxiway "E" extension and Taxiway "D" extension. Hopefully as the weather improves we will be able to complete those two projects.
The new ARFF facility is moving along nicely. The contractor was able to get the building "dried in" before the winter weather set i. Completion is scheduled for late April/early May.
