NEW Daily Nonstop American Airlines Service

Piedmont Triad, NC – American Airlines will add three daily nonstop flights between Piedmont Triad International Airport and New York’s LaGuardia airport beginning April 1st. The new service is a result of the merger between American Airlines and US Airways, and changes to its schedule made possible by the combined network.

US Airways frequent flyer members will also be happy to learn that they can earn points and preferred-qualifying miles and segments which count toward elite status in the Dividend Miles program.

“This increase in flights to New York is great news for our passengers,” said Henry Isaacson, chairman of the Piedmont Triad Airport Authority. “We believe that there is demand for this service and that these airplanes will fill up quickly.”

The new American Airlines Group Service, combined with the current Delta service, will mean the number of departing seats from PTI to LaGuardia will increase from 7,402 in April 2013 to 11,504 in April 2014.

“Because of the increased frequency of service flying from PTI will be more convenient than ever,” Isaacson said. “The flights are scheduled throughout the day, which is ideal for the business passenger.”

American Airlines will depart PTI at 6:05 a.m., 10 a.m. and 5:05 p.m. every day except Saturday. On Saturday there will be one PTI departure at 10 a.m. Flights will return from New York to PTI daily at 7:55 a.m., 3 p.m. and 9 p.m., and 3 p.m. on Saturdays.

“The added service also gives our leisure traveler lots of options,” Isaacson added. “People who like to go to New York for the weekend will find these added flights make a weekend in New York much easier to plan. We could not be more pleased.”
